Open Question: Please Help, I Dont Know What To Do.?
I Graduated high school in July 2011. I’m currently doing an NVQ level 2 in business admin which is 2 days on the coursework and 3 days voluntary placement in a solicitors office. I started off at college, but they wouldn’t let me study law or history (because of my grades) so I left. I really want to go into law.. Does anyone know any alternate ways I can receive on to a law & criminology course at university? I was supposed to be getting As and Bs at school, but because I had to go into hospital so many times I only got Cs because I missed loads of work and no one helped me with what I'd missed..

Open Question: Please Grade my SAT Preparation Essay? From 1-6 and with your views/ ideas/ criticism?
ASSIGNMENT: What is your view of the idea that greatness is the product of circumstance rather than something that naturally exists within the person? MY ESSAY: I believe that greatness exists naturally within the person and is completely independent of the circumstance one endures. Great people are already blessed with a particular set of skills and qualities that becomes obvious to the people as time passes. History tells us that every great man or lady who ever walked on this earth did not grow up in the perfect environment or acquired the best possible education in order to be great. On the contrary, almost every great person had to struggle with obstacles, but these obstacles had no effect on the greatness of the person. They were naturally imbued with courage, extraordinary skills, will power and qualities that baffled the general public. The most relevant example would be of the world-renowned Pakistani scientist Dr. Abdus Salam, who grew up in an impoverished area but eventually became one of the greatest physicists of modern times. In the city of Jhang, Abdus Salam was born in a needy family. The country was struggling to retain its independence and the economic and political conditions were by no standards suitable to empower brilliant minds like that of Dr. Salaam. But this had no effect on the natural greatness of Dr. Salaam. After passing his school, the young Salam went to Lahore where he completed his Masters in Mathematics. His adore for knowledge took him to Britain where he enrolled at the prestigious University of Cambridge, eventually becoming one of its most well known pupils. He won the Adam's Prize amongst others for the Best Pre-Doctoral Thesis ever done at Cambridge. Furthermore, Dr. Salam became involved in research both in Pakistan and in UK and discovered theories that completely changed the course of science. He became the pioneer of the Electro-Weak Theory, the Grand Unification Theory and the Pati-Salam Model. Eventually, he won the Nobel Prize in Physics, the highest award this world could give to him in the field of science. Dr. Salam’s domestic, economic or cultural obstacles did not cease him from becoming one of the greatest minds of modern era. His talents were obvious and independent of every circumstances. In the same way, every great minds are naturally great and make their place in the golden pages of world history, no matter what the circumstances.

Open Question: Nursing School-August 2014...Do you believe that is too long to wait for nursing school?
I attend a technical school at which I am in the pre-nursing program. My technical school has outstanding NCLEX scores in my state! I don't pay to go to school due to the my scholarships and grant to school. I will be done with my pre-nursing certificate this summer or fall of this year (according if I take a break)...The time I will enroll into the nursing program is August 2014 and I will be getting an ADN (Associates Degree in Nursing) so I would be finished 2016. I really don't want to wait that long espescially for an ADN. The thing I hate about 4-year universities is the tuition for the same program...I want to be able to afford to go to school but I don't want to wait so long just to receive started. My school does have a merit program but it doesn't apply to me. I'm also planning to take CNA courses so that I would have some hands on. Question: What should I do? Should I stay home, work (perhaps as a CNA) until 2014 to start on my way to becoming a nurse, earn ADN then continue on the road to BSN -or- should I transfer, pay extra for school and earn a BSN... By the way in 2014, I would be 21 going on 22

Open Question: Where can I obtain a legal list (hard copy) of Unaccredited Schools here in the USA?
Hi, I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science i the philippines. My school was affiliated with Preston University of Alabama. so my diploma and transcript both came from Preston. I am now in the USA, and want to work, and found out that Preston was actually a diploma mill and that my degree here is useless. Therefor i can not put it on my resume that i graduated from preston because that will be embarrassing. I did not know that Preston was a diploma mill before. had i known it before, i would not waste 3 years seriously studying in that school for nothing. now, is there any way i could receive a list or a document from somewhere that can state there or prove that Preston is an unaccredited school here in the US so that i could gift it to my school in the Philippines, so that I could receive a refund for my tuition money, because they told us that Preston was accredited here in the USA. Obviously that is untrue. I can actually sue my school, but every i want is my tuition back so i can use that to study again in a credited school. is there any way to receive that? (not online of course) thank you!

Open Question: U of I, UIC, or DePaul?
I currently go to Benedictine University and am not a fan of these aspects: - Terrible food (not a person on campus has a good word to say about it) - Very old and disgusting dorms (insects, bad smells, furniture falling apart) - Writing intensive courses (there is a paper due every class for 3 out of 5 of my classes each semester) - Very little campus life (made up mostly of commuters, many go home for weekends, dorm regulations incredibly strict) Those are a majority of the issues I have with my school and I am looking to attend either DePaul, UIC or U of I as a Political Science major (heavily considering a pre-law concentration). Finances are not too big of an issue, but i'm interested in knowing which of the 3 is least like the problems mentioned over. My school is tiny and I have no problem going to a big school like U of I. Also, the school that most of my credits would transfer to would be more ideal, but neither you nor I would know very much about how that would work. Any insight is appreciated.

Open Question: How often are you in university each week?
I know that it differs between different university's and courses but I was just hoping for a rough estimate so I can work out how many hours I'll be able to work while at university. Also does the amount of time spent in university each week differ each year? I'll be studying English literature if that helps.

Open Question: Need advice on a diploma obtained outside the US, but came from an unaccredited school in Alabama.?
I have a bachelor's degree in computer science and I obtained it through my school called Southville Foreign University in the Philippines last 2009. My school was affiliated with a school named PRESTON UNIVERSITY of ALABAMA, so therefor when I graduated, my diploma and transcript came from Preston university. I am now in the USA and want to work here. I heard that any degree that is obtained outside the US needs to be assessed to find its equivalent here in the USA, before you can actually work. thing is, Do i still need it to be assessed even if my diploma and transcript came from a school here in the USA (preston). also, i have recently found out that preston was actually an UNACCREDITED school here in the US. i heard that obtaining a degree from an unaccredited school here in the US is useless. of course i did not know that it was unaccredited, my school claimed Preston was accredited in the US, which is why i studied there. basically, i got fooled. but i did seriously studied in that school for 3 whole years (tri semester). my other question is, do i really need to have my degree assessed? Can i actually apply for work without an assessment. And what happens if I put on my resume that I graduated from Preston University of Alabama through Southville Foreign University of the Philippines, and employer finds out that preston is unaccredited? I am not familiar with the unaccredited stuff here in the USA.. Thank you so much for the responses! :)

Open Question: I think I made a mistake with my degree choice?
I have always loved English Literature albeit around the period of my university application process I had adopted a strong passion for politics, which eventually led to my applying to study it. Half way through my first year, I have realised I made a mistake; this course is not for me at every and I dearly miss Literature. I am regretful and would do anything to change but the prospect of wasting a whole year is grieving (especially to my parents who will claim they 'told me so'). I'd like a bit of advice. What would you do?

Open Question: Do I have a chance at being accepted to the University of Pittsburgh?
I'm in my junior year right now and have to start looking at colleges and was really interested in the University of Pittsburgh. I live in NY but have family close the area so I'm not worried about that. I have a 90 average and scored a 93 on my English regent. I'm interested in a career in Art (animation and design) as well as Writing (mostly creative writing) I'm taking 2 Art courses right now and am going into college courses for English next year. I haven't taken my SAT or ACT yet but I'm confident that I will do pretty well. What are the odds of me getting into either U-Pitt or the Art Institute of Pittsburgh? I understand that Pitt is a very selective school so if anyone who went there or applied could tell me how it was or if they got in with a 90 average or over, I'd highly appreciate it or if you could recommend any other Art/Writing schools that are good, that would be great as well!

Open Question: Do universities accept kids with Learning Disabilities?
Hi, I have a question which has bothered me for a while. As I am planning for post-secondary, specifically university, I am aware that it is very competitive, but I noticed that some websites for Universities have special admission rates specifically talks about special needs kid. Im 2 years from heading into post-secondary and I am profiled by my teachers and counsellors as a special needs kid, even though I am in regular classes and receive no special treatment. I am getting a 84% average in school so far: with courses ranging from 73% to 97%. I am wondering whether it is better to apply for university as a special needs kid, or ask my counsellor to remove that label should it negatively affect my acceptance into university. Also I am planning to upgrade my mark to at least 90% during Grade 12. I would like feedback on whether this label as a kid with " learning disabilities" would help or worsen my chance of getting accepted into university. Thanks

Open Question: Short response email from Recruiter? Bad or good?
So I went to a career fair the other day, Friday, at my university. There were many recruiters from different institutions and one of them pretty much spoke to a lot of us. She pretty much lectured us and gave us tips on how to apply for certain positions, and gave really nice inspirational advice. Of course, when you're at a career fair you are competing against other people to apply for a job and talk with the Recruiter alone, ask questions, try to stand out from the relax, etc. MY QUESTION IS: The recruiter looked at me and started talking to me and was very friendly, not to toot my possess horn but I think I was one of the best professionally dressed at the fair (clothes, hair, makeup) and I stood right next to her. At the end of her talk, me and probably like 2 other girls were asking her questions, trying to receive the recruiter interested in us. I asked her about 3-4 questions and she answered them, and later on she gave us her Business card (phone #, email, etc) I emailed her that same day, about 2 hours later, sending her a Thank You email, telling her about what we spoke about, and thank you for speaking with me and for the opportunity to answer my questions etcetcetc. She also said that I reminded her of one of her friends and to take a look at the homepage of the institution to look I though we resembled each other. She laughed and was really nice and friendly about it. So, I mentioned that in the thank you, but briefly, just to try to receive her to remember me and to not forget me nice of thing. She emailed me this afternoon, since Sat/Sun -no work, and every she said was "It was my pleasure, (my name). like your last semester!" That was it. Is this bad or good? :( I really want her to try to keep in touch with me, and pretty much her response doesn't allow me to email her back or anything, pretty much saying "look ya, you're done talking to me." D: What do you think?! Am I overreacting or something? I know for a fact my classmates did not email any recruiters. PLEASE HELP! :( Did I do something wrong?! PS- The recruiter asked me in front of people why I wanted to work there, and I gave a good answer I felt, I know I did. Also they were not accepting resumes at the fair, everything is now "electronic, you can apply online, and a new website will be up in the beginning of March so look out for our new website to apply for new grads." PLEAASEEEEEEE HELPPPPPPPPPP, Any experienced recruiters or job professionals please give me some advice on how to interpret her email response! :( LOL, please don't make fun of me.

Open Question: How long does it take to become a teacher?
I'm in my early 30's and have decided to receive out of my dead-end job and pursue something that I wanted to do since I was young, namely to become a Primary School Teacher. I didn't do too well at school grades wise as I mainly got 'D' grades and I note you need grade 'C' or over in Maths, English and Science. I have looked very briefly on the Open University website, but there is so much to take in. Therefore, I would be grateful if someone could let me know what courses I will need to take and how long they will take to complete (on a part time basis). Many thanks in advance for your help.

Open Question: Help with getting my life back on track?
I am most likely the worst student ever, to start with. I'm in grade 10 and I absolutely suck at science and math. I'm hardly passing science, and the day I receive a 50 in math is a dream this year. Of course, there are no pity passes or anything, so I'll have to repeat math most likely. If I score well on my final, I'll be given that mark as my overall average. However, we've just finished midterms and things aren't looking good. I'm generally really good at English, but I still need to hand in over three assignments by the 14th. I have a Healthy Living portfolio I need to complete by the 14th, and I have only 4/10 things completed. I have two math assignments waiting to be handed in. My mom is single and has been a waitress or unemployed for every of my life so I know how important it is to go to university and college, but I just can't seem to receive past high school yet. I don't know how I'm going to pass if I don't somehow receive my life in control and receive back on top of the game. I make a promise every year to do well, but I just can't. I really want to tutor French, ironically. My French average is 99.5, I'm really good at it. I just can't do anything else in school right now. The root of my problem is that I procrastinate, I am lazy, and I am disorganized. I can't ever pay attention in class. I don't really know why it is that I always receive distracted, I've actually considered the possibility of me having ADD and it seems so. I'm too scared to receive this checked out. I've started today by cleaning my room and organizing my papers from every year. I even found things from grade 7. I just don't know how to keep up my organization or how to make myself do my school work. I'm completely out of control. Please, could you suggest something?

Open Question: I want to go back to education, but I can't afford the course fee's- Does anyone know of any way around this?
I left college when I first went at 17, I am now approaching 22 and I want to go back to education but as I am on a low salary I can't afford the fees. It's so frustrating as I am a difficult worker who has never claimed a penny from the government and consistently paid taxes but I can't receive any help- and yet if I was unemployed they would pay the whole thing for me. I want to take 3 A Levels so that if I wanted too, I could go on to university. Does anyone know if there is any financial aid available somehow that I don't? Or alternatively are there any home courses that let you pay in instalments?

Open Question: Why do parents always act like other people's kids are better? Where is their loyalty?
I told my dad about a pal who's getting an award for something about his course at university. The first thing my dad said was "I bet he's never been arrested." He's still thinking about me being arrested FOUR YEARS AGO. For an assault on a police officer that was dropped for lack of evidence because I DIDN'T FUCKING DO IT. Why does he think I'm this terrible person? Wouldn't it reflect badly on his parenting skills if I was? Because it's impossible to have an argument/discussion with him. He shouts you down and will carry it on for hours, if not days.

Open Question: Stafford loan and College program waiting list... HELP!?
I am in dire need of help here... there doesn't seem to be any information online about my type of situation, so I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience... I am attending college in pursuit of a nursing degree with the help of stafford loans. My particular program has a three year waiting list - after completing prerequisites. It took me two years to finish my prereq's and I have now been on the waiting list for two years. In the meanwhile, I have been taking courses which will transfer to a major university program in order to maintain in-school deferment. Problem is, I didn't realize until recently that there is a lifetime loan cap. As it stands right now, I only have enough left for two years before I will reach the total allowable loan funds... my program is two years long (once I'm admitted) and I still have a year left to wait. So the question now is: What on earth do I do? I there are not enough funds to maintain in-school deferment over the next year and there is only a six month grace period before I would have to start paying my loan. Problem is, I haven't graduated yet, so I can't afford to pay it. I've been looking into the other types of deferment, but they don't have the information that I need. I know for a fact that I will be returning to school... so I don't want to do leave counseling and have to apply for another loan; nor do I want to use up every my deferment options before I may actually need them (what if I can't find a job after I graduate?). Anyhow, if anyone knows what on earth I would have to do or what the best way to do it is, I would really appreciate the information.

There are a few things I don't understand about college terminology: What does it mean when colleges have certain subjects in their names (ie: ___ of technology)? Eager to leverage my classroom learning into real world experience, I have also worked as a manager , later as a general manager for a tiny retail business. Later I was a participant in the Work and Travel exchange program, where I have worked in the USA for four months as a sales assistant, in “Secrets of Heaven Ltd”. My responsibilities at “Secrets of Heaven” included every the features of Costumer service skills, from greeting customers and finding out their needs as well as recommending, describing and demonstrating use of the product, receiving and processing payments and providing change and receipts. Now, one of my main ambitions for the future is to receive a scholarship to study for a Master’s degree in International law in the United Kingdom or Germany. Simply learning theory is not sufficient if I wish to enter my preferred University to obtain my degree. So, in order to receive an excellent academic background as well as real-life experience, I wish to take an internship. Why in the British Council? I believe that a British Council internship will be by far the best choice as it will not only provide great experience but will also allow me to improve my language and communication skills. I am also optimistic that I will gain many other important career skills upon completion of this internship in its unique bicultural atmosphere. *Actually the question was: What do you want to achieve as a professional? What have you already done to achieve this? How do you think internship in the British Council will help you achieve your ambition? Thank you every!!! (from this and last topic)!! Purple Helen I tried to follow your advice but it is still difficult for me...)) Thank you! :)

Open Question: career advice? (this will make more sense if you live in the U.K)?
I'm sixteen and sitting my GCSE's. I'm studying Maths, Double Award Science, English Language, English Literature, half course I.T, French, Spanish, Geography and Art & Design. I am really interested in animals, biology, agriculture and medicine. I've wanted to be a vet ever since I was very young and I will be completing work experience in a veterinary clinic next week. I have successfully completed Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, I'm currently working towards my silver award and I intend to complete Gold. I researched University entry requirements for veterinary online and the general requirement is three of the following: Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, grades A-A* at A-Level. I've provisionally chosen Physics, Chemistry and Biology as I cannot do A-Level maths because at my school you're not allowed to pick A-Level maths if you have not done additional maths at GCSE level. Lately I've been having second thoughts. I have been told by my teachers that both chemistry and physics at A-Level are going to be extremely difficult for anyone who has not done additional maths at GCSE. I'm already having difficulty with Chemistry. So my first question is, would it be wise to pick those three subjects? Bear in mind that I have dreamed of being a vet for years, and I can't really imagine myself in any other profession. Secondly, the subjects I excel in are Biology, English, and French. If I were to pick these at A Level my life would be a lot easier and probably more enjoyable. However I don't know any career paths which specify these subjects. Anyone have any ideas? My school does not offer English language at A-Level, only Literature. I would definitely not go into teaching of any nice. I would prefer a very well paid job that requires travel and working with animals. Any suggestions/ideas/advice/links to courses would be very much appreciated.

Open Question: What career path could I take with a degree in Nutrition and Wellness that is NOT accredited?
I attend a university and I want to major in nutrition however this program is not accredited so I'm wondering what possible career options I would have? This is the description of the program, please read it: "The Nutrition and Wellness track provides a broad curriculum that includes both liberal arts and nutrition, science, and health courses. This educational framework provides the knowledge, skills, and values needed for entry into graduate school or a career in nutrition and wellness. Unlike the Coordinated and Didactic Programs, this track is not accredited. Students in this track are not eligible to sit for the registration examination."

Open Question: How Strict is the 90% attendance rule in a university degree?
My pal is in university on her last year of a Medical degree, and she's been taking a lot of time off. Her course requires 90% attendance to complete, and while she's doing well at her assignments, I'm certain she has had more than 10% days off this final year. Should I be telling her it's important? She seems to think she will be ok. Does anyone know any guidelines, rules on this 90% attendance requirement, and how flexible is it? Please help me answer this anybody. Thanks Wow people - quit with the harshness, there were some very valid reasons for her time off, and she's very competent. I was just looking for an answer from a course/degree perspective. She is studying to be a radiographer. I realise some people are unimpressed with the medical system, can you keep your opinions and just answer the question. Many thanks!

Open Question: Help me decide what to do about my Dad?
HI guys, I haven't really been active on here in a long time but I'm at a bit of a crossroads in my life. My dad and I do not have a great relationship, he was always distant when I was younger and eventually left when I was 12 years old. The year leading up to this he would make untrue promises and never be home. Needless to say I have always wondered where or who he was with. Anyway he moved out and divorced my Mum with an agreement that they BOTH made. She would not take half of his business on the condition that me and my mum could live in the home I was raised in and that he would pay support until I was out of education. It was agreed that he would pay £200 a month while I was in term or below my mothers care. So for example he would have to pay on the 12 months when I was living at home and at high school but only the months I was at Uni terms when I lived in my flat. So over the years my relationship with my dad has gotten worse and worse, he met a new lady a year after he left who had a son around my age. My dad then went on to effectively pretend I was non existent and treated the other boy like his son. The only connection he had with me seemed to be the burden of paying child support. He would bring the boy when he had put time aside for me making it effectively worthless. So I came to uni in 2009 and ever since then my dad has been nothing but an asshole. He seems to think I ask for money, drink, do drugs, ignore my family and live in fantasy land being supported only by him. Let me be clear, I have never done drugs, work difficult at university, maintain a great relationship with the relax of my family and have a very strong committed relationship, which my dad hasn't even bothered to ask to meet her after 2 years. He has decided that because my behavior is so bad and that I am so ungrateful that he does not to pay the support he is legally bonded to. Now because I am over 18 it is up to me to take action. I can either let him away with it or take him to court. He likes to remind me I dont have a job, I understand this point he makes, I do try to find work but I am in a very important year of study and it is difficult to find one. I am making excuses here, when really there is none. But that doesnt mean he has to treat me like I am someone I am not. I dont ever ask anything of him because quite frankly Ive arrive to know better. My dad refused to buy me toys or sweets etc when I was a little boy, he wasnt trying to not spoil me he was completely detached from his role of a dad. My dad thinks that because he has paid this money so far thats his job done, he knows where I live yet never comes to look me, he knows my interests but never asks, he knows about my relationship and university course but I asked him in the heat of an argument what I study and where and he got both wrong. Bearing in mind we talk on the phone once or twice a month I was disgusted by this. Sometimes I dont even answer because It doesnt even feel like im talking to my dad, he talks to me like a lawyer trying to justify himself for not wanting anything to do with me. He claims he has no money and my mum bled him dry, yet he has an aeroplane and 2 cars. Also, the money that my mum supposedly took from him, well he was legally binded as per his signature on their divorce agreement to pay. He always tries to involve his relationship with my mum in our relationship. So hes refusing to pay it anymore, he thinks hes basically screwed my life up and its what I need to stand on my possess two feet. I think he thinks he is the only one who cares about me and that there is nobody out there that will help me through it. Effectively what he has done is nothing but show me how little he cares, its not like he gave me 200 a month as well as seeing me lots or offering to buy me a drink now and then THAT WAS every HE DONE. Now hes not doing anything. What a great dad. Also its worth mentioning the £200 was meant to increase by a tiny amount each year but we excused him from this because he was my Dad and I didnt want to put a financial restrain on him. Now I have had enough of him treating me like this. Do I let him away with it or not? What would you do?

Open Question: When do American students find out about Uni?
I'm just wondering when American students find out whether they have been accepted into their university/college courses? TV shows give the impression that students find out what college they are going to before they even graduate high school, so I'm interested to know what really happens...when do you have to apply for your courses? Do you find out when you're still in high school, or do find out soon after graduation? I'd adore as much info as you can possibly give me about this--I'm really interested in the American school system and can't seem to find what I'm looking for on Google. Thanks!

Resolved Question: Could you guys please read this essay and tell me your honest opinion?
Note: English is not my first language. I would appreciate it if you rate my essay out of 10 poinst and tell me if it is at university level. Topic: Should people with same sex be allowed to receive married? Gays and lesbians have had many difficulties throughout the history. Many countries sentence them to death, some prosecute and imprison them and in many nations, they are allowed to be homosexuals and live in the society as normal people. Same sex marriage and having kids, however, is a new agenda discussed by many countries around the world these days. Many people and officials are against it and many support it. I personally support the gay marriage but I am against having kids. In this essay, I will discuss my reasons with you. There is always an exception in almost every the scientific facts. The same thing applies to human sexual orientation. Homosexuals do not decide on their sexuality; some abnormalities happen in their genetic structure and they happen to be sexually attracted towards the same gender. Just like straight people are attracted towards the opposite gender, gay people are attracted towards the same sex and nothing can cease them from that. The problems that occur to make people gay in the genetic structure, do not usually affect any other physiological aspect, therefore, gay people should be given the same rights in the society. People usually think that homosexuals and lesbians are totally different creatures as they are the minorities and people have not seen them so often and are not familiar with them. In my opinion, they are only exceptional in sexuality and they are the same as every other person in any other aspect. They can be our best friends, good managers, great doctors and the list goes on. Now that we know gay people are normal, then there should be equal rights for them as other people. This involves being allowed to receive married just in a way an opposite-sexed couple would receive married. Marriage is about adore, commitment and of course, sexual attraction. Why should not homosexuals be able to receive married if they adore each other, are committed to each other and are sexually attracted? I personally do not look any reason to ban same sex marriage; therefore, I think that officials and law makers should allow the same sex marriage as soon as possible before more homosexuals and lesbians are hurt in our society. Should the same sex couples be allowed to adopt kids? I think they should not. Having two male or two female parents to take care of kids, especially if they are young and their personality has not shaped yet, will affect them in a drastic way. kids will be confused when they walk into society and they will feel abnormal and different form other people. For instance, it will be difficult for a child to understand the reason for having two fathers or two mothers; Therefore, I believe, for the sake of the kids, we have no choice but to forbid gays and lesbians from adopting kids. To conclude, I believe that homosexuals are absolutely normal people and should be given the same rights such as being able to receive married. They should be able to be involved in the society just like every other person and there should be no attention on them regarding their sexuality, whatsoever.

Open Question: U.S. Educational System vs graduating at 16?
Hello, I am writing an essay for one of my college writing classes and I was wondering if anyone who has graduated from a secondary school where the students graduate around the age of 16 could answer my questions to help me out! I would greatly appreciate it! =) If you don't mind, please state your name so that I can reference back to you, but if you do mind then I'll just post the link to where I got this information. 1. In what country did you attend/graduate from secondary school? 2. What is the average age that students who attend secondary school in your country graduate at? 3. At approximately what age do kids in your country start attending school? 4. Are students in your country separated into areas of interest when entering secondary school? (For example: Bob has shown great skill in science classes, so when he enters secondary school he will be mainly taking science classes) 5. If Yes to #4, how are they separated? (Example: areas where the student has shown great accomplishment, or areas where the student wants to focus, or both?) 6. If Yes to #4, do you think it benefits students to be separated into specific areas of study? Why or why not? What are the advantages and disadvantages of separation, if any exist? 7. If Yes to #4, do you think separation better prepares them for life after school? (whether they go on to university or immediately receive a job) 8. What courses are every students in secondary school required to take, regardless of what study area they are in? 9. What is the graduation rate of secondary schools in your country (Example: 80% of students graduated from secondary school in 2011) 10. Do most graduates continue their education at a college or university? Do these students seem mentally mature enough to handle college at their age? 11. Anything else you can think of that might be helpful for my paper! =) Thank you very much for your responses!

Open Question: Should I drop Biology and take Gym instead?
Do Universities look at grade 11 marks/subjects in Canada? My average right now is in the high 80's, and I'm in grade 11. Two of my courses are art and personal fitness. The other two are English (college lvl) and Law. This semester I'm taking Math, English (University lvl), Chemistry, and Biology. I'm thinking of dropping Bio and doing gym instead. The reason is because I'm going to be having a lot of home work and I did not just want to have a free period, so every just take gym for an easy credit. Will universities look at this and say my average is only high because I took easy course's? These are the course's I'm taking and the mark I got: English (College lvl)...80+ Law...85+ PF...85+ Art...85+ I haven't started my second semester yet, But I plan to work difficult and maintain a 80+ average English (University lvl) Chemistry Biology or gym Math Would I still look good on paper if I drop Bio for gym? The careers I'm look at are Police Officer, Lawyer, and Accountant.

Open Question: Griffith University Timetable?
I've enrolled in my program, but in the portal in the class schedule tab it has one class on the timetable and the relax underneath saying that meeting information is unavailable. When I enrolled there was only one 5 digit class code available for each course (so there were many checkboxes for tutes and workshops, but only one class code) Does anyone know why? This has been confusing me for a couple of months and no one seems to be able to help. This is what I receive in the build timetable screen, it's also what I got when I went to enrol. http://www3.griffith.edu.au/03/STIP4/app Ignore that link. Doesn't take you to the right place. I have been to the office and she just said build your timetable in that link. There's no keep or anything. I'm going back in the next week to ask again or I'll just phone. It shouldn't be this complicated.
